Tractors and Elephants

Posted by Anne Yorks on Thursday, March 11, 2010

Wow. What a week. I am a cookie machine. I don't have the pics ready yet, but I'll have a cool update or two in the next few days. I took a few risks this week and I think they paid off. I'm just hoping my customers agree.

As promised, here are the rest of the additions to www.flourboxbakery.com.

I'll start with my favorite. A green tractor cookie.

My mom loved this cookie. She is a big John Deere fan. Not over the top, but she does have a few collectibles in her kitchen. Kind of funny considering she grew up a city kid. I guess all those years spent in good old Kempton, PA (a great small town located about 30 minutes from Allentown) planted the tractor passion seed. Now all she needs is a real tractor. Or at least a ride on one. Anyone out there have a connection?  You know what they say, "Nothing Runs Like a Deere". Her birthday is in July. A ride would be a cool pressy. Maybe she'll have to settle for a few of these. But in my opinion, it really wouldn't be settling. I'd rather have a cookie than a stinky tractor any day.

The tractors were for a very, very special 4-year-old. This was a nice change of pace from the girly, pink cookies I LOVE doing. Boy cookies are cool too. I added a grill thing on the side, a cute little seat (my favorite detail on this cookie), lug nuts on the hubcap thingy, and tractor tread on the big wheel.

The next addition was added as part of a jungle theme order with lions and giraffes. I think I'm going to work on a monkey cookie. Can't have a jungle without a monkey, right? This elephant cookie is clean and cute. I love the tusk.

Then I also decided to add these as a regular on the site...

I added the T-shirt Cookie, High Top Sneaker Cookie, the High Heel Cookie, and the Pink Party Dress. If you haven't seen these before, you can check them out on this blog post in more detail.

That's all the updates for now. I know I teased Spring and Easter cookies a few times. Well, I'm ready to take down the winter collections and put them up. This will happen this weekend and early next week. I will post an in-depth look on each collection in a blog post. There will be FOUR (so far. I'm toying with one more possible design).

PLUS...I received one more super amazing *handmade* birthday gift. As soon as I get the photo, I will post an update.

Have a sweet day,
Anne
