**A Note from Anne: The Halloween Cookie Project is underway! Did you know that 15 Penn State students are taking over the business side of Flour Box Bakery in October? Read more about this project with the class ENG 310-Entrepreneurial Leadership by clicking here. This is a BONUS blog post created by the Happy Valley Harvest Team. Each team selected one cookie collection and is responsible for writing the product information, a blog post, and facebook and twitter updates. The HVH team put together a 2nd post. I don't want to give them an unfair advantage, but since some time and effort went into this piece - I decided to publish it. So - if any of the other teams are reading this and want to do the same - contact me and we'll work out the details! The door is open to all teams. All four collections are available for sale. You can view them by clicking here.  Orders must be placed by October 25th. Quantities are fixed and the first team to sell out wins!! All orders will ship between Oct. 26 - 28**

Frequently Asked Questions

What is Happy Valley Harvest?

A.K.A. HVH, Happy Valley Harvest is a branch of Flour Box Bakery that is selling a unique fall collection of gourmet cookies prepared by head baker, Anne Yorks.

What is “Harvest Time”?

Harvest Time is the name of our cookie collection. “Harvest Time” is a collection of twelve autumn-themed cookies:

6 leaves (2 red, 1 orange, 1 yellow, 1 brown, 1 green)
2 pumpkins
2 thanksgiving baskets
2 apples (1 macintosh, 1 golden delicious)

What’s so great about these cookies?

Preparation. Each cookie has been hand-rolled and hand-decorated with attention to detail that cannot be matched by mass produced cookies you purchase from grocery stores.

Ingredients. “Harvest Time” cookies are mixed with the perfect blend of flour, sugar, butter, eggs, pure vanilla, and the most important ingredient, love. Have you ever heard of Chewy Chips Ahoy? We know Chewy Chips Ahoy makes a great cookie. But, just for a little fun, let’s perform a side-by-side comparison of the ingredients in both cookies...

“Harvest Time”

Chewy Chips Ahoy!

Flour

Now you know where the Flour Box Bakery name comes from.

Enriched Flour ((WHEAT FLOUR, NIACIN, REDUCED IRON, THIAMIN MONONITRATE [VITAMIN B1], RIBOFLAVIN [VITAMIN B2], FOLIC ACID)

I can’t read the fine print!

Sugar
It’s the most important ingredient behind the sugar cookie.

Semisweet chocolate chips

Semisweet says it all. I like my cookies prepared with 100% sweet ingredients...

Butter
Added to provide structure and flavoring.

Palm oil and/or soybean oil and/or partially hydrogenated cottonseed oil

There is a 33% chance that one or more of these ingredients may be contained in your food. Even if you know what they are, you’re taking your chances on which one you’ll get.

Eggs
Adds structure and tenderness.

High Fructose Corn Syrup

I like the sound of “Pure Vanilla” better.

Pure Vanilla
Pure, not imitation, to create a deep and delicious vanilla flavor

Sugar

I recognize this ingredient!

Love
For Anne’s cookies, the attention to details and hand-decoration make “love” the ingredient that adds the most flavor to this tasty autumn treat.

“Natural and Artificial Flavoring”

I think I will take my chances with “love”...

A list of the main ingredients of Chewy Chips Ahoy taken from the Nabisco webpage are listed below:
