Tidbits

Testing. 1, 2, 3

Over the last few weeks, I have been testing out a few new gadgets and ideas.

And, I'll let you in on a little secret, I really want to be an 'icing ruffle' master. But I have a LONG way to go. This weekend, I am making special tutu cookies for my 4-year-old's first dance recital. I have a ruffle plan for the skirt that I am hoping and praying works out. Here is a practice cookie that wasn't so bad. It was inspired by a cookie I drooled over from JP Creatibles. (click here to see her cookies. They are unbelievable).

I can't wait to try it for real. Wish me luck!

Then this week, I hosted a decorating party with a local girl scout troop. I have been dying to try a daisy I saw on the Bearfoot Baker's a few weeks ago. Her blog is FULL of fun cookie tips and ideas. I followed her instructions, and although I was shaky in the beginning, I think I got the hang of it by the end. I would definitely give this another try because I think it made the daisy look more realistic.

And finally, this is my first attempt at airbrushing a cookie. I named my airbrush Blasto, because he is a powerful little guy.

It is so much fun! I have used it a couple times since this project and I think I am starting to get a feel for the trigger. I can't wait to find new ways to use it on future projects.

Now I just need to practice, practice, practice to get things just right. But it's always fun to try to new ideas!

Have a sweet weekend!
