Many SWEET Thanks

Posted by Anne Yorks on Tuesday, October 23, 2012

Thank you to all my family, friends, customers, and blog readers for you outpouring of support of my new bakery. I feel overwhelmed with blessings and love. A good place to be, if you ask me! But I certainly can't take credit for this project. Many people helped me make my dream a reality.

And what better way to say thank you, then to say it with cookies...baking themed cookies of course!

I enjoyed making these cookies coordinate with the colors of the new bakery. Pinks, gray, white and black!

The cookie sheet was so cute and funny. Love those gingerbread men!

This gorgeous mixer cookie is made by using the cookie cutter from ecrandal.com...a gift from my sweet Pennsylvania cookie girl, Sarah of Songbird Sweets! Thank you, Sarah...so glad this is one of the first cookies to be made in my new kitchen! This mixer cookie matches my real KitchenAid mixer, named Pinkie!

The wood grain on the rolling pin is food marker. I just free handed it to what I though wood grain should look like. The pink polka dot oven mitt was simple to make, but ended up be one of the cutest cookies in this set!

The 'Many Sweet Thanks' cookies were probably my favorite...the dots, the fonts, the pink outline on the cookie. It all just worked for me.

I am loving my new full-sized cookie sheets. This is 6 dozen cookies on one sheet! Cool!

I made these cookies for my family that have been a part of this dream from the start! Here are a few people I'd like to thank for their help with building the bakery.

Most importantly, I'd like to thank my mom. She is amazing, smart, kind, giving, and encouraging. Really, she's just the greatest person I have ever met. I am living my dream because she supported me and encouraged through the entire process. She's amazing!!

Then, Topher. What can I say? One night when we worked really, really late and were crawling into bed knowing we'd only be getting a few hours of sleep, I asked him, "Why are you even doing all this work? You have a real job. I really appreciate it, but I can't believe you are helping me so much." And he responded, "Because I believe in you." Wow! Did I marry the most amazing guy or what? He did a lot of the dirty jobs on this project and EVERYTHING in between without a single complaint.

This project absolutely would not have been possible without my friends Tom and Dale, the brains, the planning, and the skills behind the operation. They were the real experts and helped us with stuff we could have never done on our own!

And, the bakery would NEVER have been finished without the help of my in-laws, Nancy and Greg. They put in countless hours. Brought us dinners. And kept us going when we got stuck on a particular project. We learned so much from them and also learned how to enjoy the project along the way. They made me feel so special and loved throughout the entire process.

Many others helped and I'd like to thank them as well: My Dad - Carl, Jenny and Chuck, David, Brian, Mike, Patrick, Andrew, Lynnette, Anne, and Grant (a little bit :) - thanks for the beer, buddy!).

I also can't help but thank my sweet girls, Grace and Cecelia. They have been so patient and understanding during this time too. They were excited about the project and loved seeing the progress...and I think they are convinced we built them a ballet studio, since they love to dance in the bakery. Maybe I'll need to install a mirror and a barre.

From the bottom of my heart, thank you everyone for making me dreams come true!

Have a sweet day,

Anne
