Pirate Cookie Party Favors

Have you noticed something recently? Come on, take a guess!

Yes, I'm blogging again. I have been posting regularly 1 or 2 times a week and plan to continue in this routine. I decided to take some time off from blogging to get a few officey things organized. Like implementing a good bookkeeping system. I spend so much time working on cookies and communicating with customers, that I needed to create an easy way for me to keep track of all my financial records. I am so glad I invested the time into finding a solution that works for me. And besides, any excuse to buy a new file holder from Home Goods is awesome!

Now that I'm back in the swing of chatting with you through my blog, I feel like I'm a little wobbly. I'm trying to keep my blog updated with my latest cookie projects with a few glimpses into the creation of the cookie. Once in a while I might also throw in a non-cookie blog post that relates to life in Happy Valley (which is where I live).  So I hope you enjoy today's post and I hope you keep coming back!

I think every Cookie Decorator I know has a cookie bucket-list...mine is quite long!!! At the top of the list was pirate cookies! Arrgghhh!

I made these favors for the two coffee shops I sell to: Village Eatinghouse in Pleasant Gap and Callao Cafe and Market in State College. I LOVE creating the coffee shop orders because I can make anything I want. I try to keep it seasonal and holidays are easy. But those non-holiday weeks give me the flexibility to try out new design ideas (and I'm absolutely open to suggestions, so if you'd like to see something in the coming weeks, please leave me a comment below! I'm always up for something new or even a challenge!)

I think the treasure chest and map were my two favorite favors from this bunch! I loved all the little details on each cookie.

I've had that golden sugar for a little while, hoping and waiting for a treasure chest order. It was such a great moment the first time I opened the bottle and sprinkled them on! I think I smiled the entire time!

I looked at several map images before I planned out my cookie. At first I imaged a map that was all land, but then I remembered...hello!?! These are PIRATES...they need a water map, not a land map. The treasure map cookie is complete with a few waves, mountains, and of course a red X.

My daughter is a huge fan of Jake and the Neverland Pirates (a cartoon on Disney Jr.). I would have been missing the boat (pun intended) if I made this set and didn't include a girl pirate.

My pirate cookie favor is complete with a tall black hat with the classic skull and bones symbol and an eye patch. Funny thing, the day after I made these cookies I saw a man on the street wearing an eye patch - surely for medicinal reasons, but it did make me wonder if he was a pirate!

I didn't have a pirate cookie cutter, so here is what I used: an upside down bunny head for the girl and a snowman face for the boy. Tricky and cool, huh?

The pirate ship is a LARGE cookie!! I love big cookies...mmmmmm. This is more than 5" tall and is a fantastic sized party favor.

Here is the whole set all together! In case you are interested in ordering Pirate cookies for a party, click here to view the order info!

Thanks so much for reading! I'll be back soon with another fun blog post. Promise!
