I'm nuts for my girls. They are the light of my life. Some of our best moments are spent in the kitchen, but not baking...dancing. Every night as I'm making our dinner, I put on 'Gracie Music' and my sweet little girl dances away. And now Cecelia is finding the beat too and clapping and shaking. It's too funny.
A few weeks ago, Grace had her very first dance recital, not in our kitchen, but on a real stage.
My little one is all the way on the left. The auditorium was quite dark, so our photos are not the greatest. Here is one from home where the light was a little better for photo-taking.
The photo is a little blurry from the pirouette-ing. But look at that smile, such a happy girl!
Her class danced to a song called 'Putting on my Tutu'. It was so wonderful!
And of course, I wanted to make a special treat for Grace to share with her little ballerina friends. I tried to coordinate the cookies with their costumes.
I used gold disco dust on the frills, and a little gold luster dust on the brushed flowers. This photo doesn't quite capture the true sparkle of this cookie, but I think you get the idea.
This was excellent practice for my icing ruffle techniques. Lots and lots of wiggling.
Then the cookies were bagged and tagged and ready for the show!
And her friends loved them!!
Wishing you all a very sweet Mother's Day.
