It's graduation season and that means it's also a busy cookie season! I enjoy making the diplomas and hats and balloons. But, I was so excited when my customer contacted me with this Hollywood themed graduation and birthday party idea. Her sister was turning 19 on her graduation day. Take a peek at the cookie favors created for sweet Juliet on her special day!
Golden statue award cookies with the graduates name. I outlined the body of the man and sprayed him gold. Then I went back and added the muscular detail with a golden yellow icing. I love the texture and contrast of colors to create this cookie.
Here is the set all together. A few star cookies, a director's clapper board cookie, a mask, and a marquee cookie made this order complete.
My favorite cookie of the group was this marquee cookie. My customer requested the birthday girl's name on the cookie and I added the 'Class of 2012 Presents'. I thought it was a nice, personal touch.
I love this photo because it shows the layers of icing on the cookie.
I made quite a few star cookies to go with this order, both gold and yellow. I added a black border to the gold star to really make it pop and I love the effect it had. The font on the cookie was assisted by my friend KopyKake. Not sure if I could exactly replicate that fancy font over and over and over on my own :).
The director's clapperboard cookie cutter was ordered from my friends at Coppergifts.com. They are really wonderful - excellent copper cookie cutters and phenomenal customer service. Special thanks to them for making this order easy to create! I really don't like cutting cookies by hand, especially for a larger order.
I wish Juliet nothing but the best for her future. And a super special thank you to her sister for the awesome graduation order idea!!
In case you missed, a few friends and I did a fun wedding themed project using the May 2012 Brides magazine...check it out if you want to see some really beautiful cookie projects!!
